There were further signs of easing inflationary pressures in UK, with declining output price inflation, cooling wage growth and stable inflation expectations. Retail sales got a summer boost from sunny weather and rising incomes, though the recovery is patchy one. House prices hit a two-year high in August, thanks to rising buyer confidence and falling interest rates, even as affordability remains a hurdle. Meanwhile, the US labour market data was lukewarm in August, with job growth below expectations and downward revisions to previous data, keeping rate cuts on the cards. And that’s even with some reasonably solid looking services sector data!
